Using Vinyl Lettering to Decorate Your Baby’s Nursery

June 23rd, 2008

When you think of vinyl lettering you may think of it being used for banners, car window lettering, or other applications.   However, you can also use custom vinyl lettering to create a really cute nursery for your baby.  Yes, vinyl lettering is also a great way to decorate a child’s room.

Recently, my friend Rebekah used some vinyl lettering to decorate her baby’s nursery.  She was having a hard time deciding how to decorate the baby’s room because they only rent, and weren’t allowed to paint their walls or do anything permanent.  I told her to consider using some vinyl wall lettering to add some cute things to her walls.  We put together some stuff using some of my designs, and viola!  She ended up with a very cute nursery without having to do anything permanent.  When she’s ready to remove her wall lettering, she can just peel it off..and it won’t damage her painted walls.

Custom Vinyl Lettering Offers a Viable Alternative to Stenciling

May 13th, 2008

Why mess with the hassle, expense, and clean up of painting when you can achieve a better, more clean and professional looking result for half the price?  Maybe this is why so many people are turning to vinyl lettering in the form of wall lettering to beautify their homes.

vinyl letteringStenciling has long been a method of adding charm and character to certain rooms in your home.  Whether you’re stenciling the words “bon appetite” onto a wall of your kitchen, or painting soft pink daisies on the walls of your daughters room, one thing is for certain.  You need to put away the paint right now.  There is a much easier, and less expensive way to achieve the desired “hand painted look” using custom vinyl lettering.

I remember when my friend was decorating her son’s room, she decided to stencil the words of a favorite children’s poem on the walls of the room.  She painstakingly printed off the words, one by one on her computer, and then would transfer the letters to the wall using carbon paper, and then began the painting.  Several times she “messed it up” and would have to go back and paint over the lettering and start again.  Knowing what I know now, I could have saved her a lot of time, sweat, tears…and money!  You no longer need to use paint to stencil lettering onto walls.  Using decorative wall lettering, available at www.vinylcraftlettering.com, you can achieve a hand painted stenciled look without the mess of paint, and without the hassle!  You simply order whatever you want, because you actually choose the font and color of the lettering.  It is pre-cut, and pre-spaced to your specifications, and you simply transfer the lettering to the walls, which give you a great “hand painted” look, but no messy cleanup!  In fact, I remember when we were renting, I used decorative wall lettering in our living room and kitchen to give the rooms a little charm, and a friend of mine actually commented “I can’t believe your landlord let you paint on the walls, our landlord would never let us do that!”  Little did she know, it wasn’t paint, and was completely removable without damaging the painted walls.  Since then, decorative wall lettering has gained popularity, due in large part to being easy, inexpensive, and removable.  I think you’d be amazed at how some decorative wall lettering can transform an ordinary room into a room full of charm and personality.   Remember, when designing your own decorative wall lettering, your imagination is the only limitation as to what you can create.

Using Vinyl Lettering For Your Craft Ideas

April 25th, 2008

If you’re at all familiar with vinyl lettering being used in crafts and home decor, you probably have realized by now that the possibilites are limitless when it comes to created unique and uplifting craft and home decor projects.  Here are some of the ways you can use vinyl lettering in your crafting projects:

  1. Magnetic Picture, Message, and Recipe Boards.  You can use vinyl lettering to add a special touch to a magnetic recipe board, picture, or message board.  Vinyl lettering can be customized to fit the exact application you desire, and can be done in about any font or size you’d like.
  2. Home Decor SignsVinyl lettering can also be used to create unique, and inspiring home decor signs.  The rustic wooden signs we feature on our site all utilize vinyl lettering to acheive the beautiful custom look our customers desire.
  3. Decorative Tiles.  Nothing quite sets off an entryway or sofa table like a 12″ decorative tile featuring a quote that captures the essence of your family, beliefs, and values.  You can use vinyl letteirng to create a custom home decor tile that matches not only your decor tastes, but your values as well.  In fact, on our entry way table we have a decorative tile featuring the Bountiful Utah Temple, along with our names and date of our marriage. What a beautiful way to welcome people into your home.
  4. Glass Etching.  You can also use vinyl lettering to create a stencil that can be used for etching glass. We did this and etched the saying “Baked With Love from the Smith Kitchen.”  The quote was followed by a cute little daisy.  This is a great way to put your name on a pyrex baking dish, and is much more attractive than writing it with a sharpie, or on a piece of tape.

These are just a few ways you can use vinyl lettering to create unique craft ideas.  The bottom line is that vinyl lettering really does allow you a lot more flexibility, and is much less expensive than using paint.

Vinyl Lettering Craft Idea for Girls Camp 2008

April 24th, 2008

Each year we get requests for good girls camp craft ideas.  Last year we designed a decorative tile that featured the YW’s name in the center of the tile, with the YW values scrolling around the outside of the tile.  This year, we have designed a tile featuring the 2008 YW Theme “Steadfast & Immovable.”

The vinyl lettering kit makes a great craft idea because it’s simple, beautiful, inexpensive, and is something that is a keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.  What else could you ask for in a girls camp craft.  Rather than doing a craft that gets tossed aside, or stuffed in a drawer somewhere, give your YW a craft project they will remember and cherish for years to come.

What makes the craft even better, is that we offer church groups a 30% discount on all of our vinyl lettering kits, which really does make this an affordable craft….and one that fits within the girls camp budget.  If you’d like to order vinyl lettering kits for your girls camp attendees this year, you can do so at www.vinylcraftlettering.com.  Also, each vinyl lettering kit comes with the lettering, application instructions, as well as an application tool.
